These steel pipes are usually produced in lengths of 6 and 12 meters and are also used in these lengths. 6-meter steel pipes are often used for industrial piping purposes and 12-meter steel pipes are also used for use in transmission lines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Types of steel pipes<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Steel pipes can be classified based on different criteria, two of the most common of which are based on the presence or absence of welds in the steel pipe or based on the material of the steel pipe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Seamless or welded steel pipes<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Steel pipes that are formed into cylindrical sheets and have their edges welded at the end are called seamed steel pipes or seam-welded steel pipes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Longitudinal welded steel pipe: These pipes have a welded seam aligned with the length of the steel pipe .<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Spiral steel pipes: Spiral steel pipes have a spiral weld seam, which is actually a secondary process for connecting shorter steel pipes together to create a long pipe .<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Seamless or Monisman steel pipes<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is another type of steel pipe that is made seamless due to the manufacturing process. These pipes are also called Mannsmann steel pipes, which refers to the way they are manufactured . Seamless pipe\u00a0These are the types. Seamless steel pipes are divided into the following types based on the variety of their production process :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Seamless Steel Pipe Mandrel Mill<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mannheim steel pipe<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Extruded steel pipe<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Steel pipe produced by centrifugal casting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Steel pipe<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Steel pipes are a type of steel pipe made of stainless steel. Based on the variety of stainless steels, steel pipes are also divided into the following :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ferritic steel pipe<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Austenitic steel pipe<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Martensitic steel pipe<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Duplex or two-phase steel pipe<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Precipitation hardened steel pipe<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The production process of various types of steel pipes<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In general, pipes are manufactured in two ways: with or without seams. In both cases, the raw materials are first formed into blooms and billets, and then rolled into sheets. These sheets are then formed into pipes, either with or without seams, and finally the pipes are cut to standard sizes .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Standard types of steel pipes<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Steel pipes are manufactured to various standards. Two of the most important of these standards are ANSI\/API 5L and ASTM . ANSI\/API 5L specifies two product levels (PSL1 and PSL2) for seamless steel pipe and welded steel pipe for use in oil and natural gas pipelines. PSL1 specifies only minimum requirements and properties, while PSL2 specifies both minimum and maximum requirements and properties . Maximum properties are especially important in acidic and sour environments. For example, if the maximum hardness in acidic environments exceeds a standard limit, hydrogen will penetrate and cause cracking in the pipe .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ASTM standards also cover a variety of steel pipes and fittings for high-temperature service, general purpose, and special applications such as fire protection. ASTM standards list steel pipe specifications, standard requirements for boiler and superheater pipes, general service pipes, steel pipes in refinery service, heat exchanger and condenser pipes, mechanical and structural pipes .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this regard, some of the grades and standards for manufacturing steel pipes are as follows :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A steel pipe rolled or normalized in accordance with API 5L PSL1 standard<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>B steel pipe and grades X42 to X70 in rolled, normalized, thermomechanical and normal-tempered forms in accordance with API 5L PSL1 standard<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Steel pipe grades X42N to X60N , X42Q to X100Q and X42M to X120M in normalized, quench-tempered and thermomechanically rolled forms in accordance with API 5L PSL2 standard<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ASTM A53 standard for welded and seamless steel pipes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ASTM A106 Standard for Seamless Steel Pipe for High Temperature Applications<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ASTM A333 Standard for Seamless Steel Pipe for Low-Temperature Applications<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ASTM A134 Standard for Arc Welded Seamless Steel Pipe<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ASTM A135 standard for resistance-welded seamless steel pipes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Application of various types of steel pipes<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Steel pipes have a variety of uses depending on their size, thickness, production standard, and material. Below we will mention some of the most important uses of steel pipes :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Fluid transfer <\/strong><strong>:<\/strong>\u00a0It can be said that the main use of steel pipes is to transport fluids. Various types of steel pipes are used in urban water supply, water and sewage, petrochemical industries, and oil and gas transmission lines .<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Construction applications <\/strong><strong>:<\/strong>\u00a0Steel pipes, also known as steel tubes, provide greater strength to foundations and are widely used in construction projects .<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Construction piles <\/strong><strong>:<\/strong>\u00a0Steel pipes provide foundation strength in a process called piling.
